As a textile attempt to capture a sense of global unity, Miscellany was made with materials sourced from different parts of the world. Sashiko-inspired stitching binds the layers of patchwork, symbolizing a world in harmony, which is materialized through Boro aesthetics.
Patchwork and hand stitching are traditions found in many cultures, often born out of frugality and necessity. In this work, they symbolize the deep connections among cultures and the shared stories that unite them.
